Hospitals prioritize imaging tests due to isotope shortage

The ongoing isotope shortage is causing some U.S. hospitals to prioritize diagnostic tests, with doctors prioritizing the most urgent scans, usually heart scans, and delaying others, such as tests to monitor cancer spread. A survey of doctors and nuclear medicine technicians showed 60% have already postponed tests, while 31% have canceled some procedures.
