HP boosts investments in university research

Despite ongoing cost-cutting efforts that have trimmed its general expenses by 13% and its R&D budget by 20%, Hewlett-Packard is still investing in long-term research projects. The company plans to unveil an expanded university research grant program this week that will fund, among other things, cloud computing research and a variety of projects related to HP's existing businesses.
