Hiring will decide U.S. housing market's future, study finds

Record-low mortgage rates are a plus, but the U.S. housing market needs more jobs to mount a recovery, according to a report from the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University. "If history is a guide, what happens with jobs will matter the most to the strength of the housing rebound," said Eric Belsky, the center's executive director.
