New Chicago teacher evaluations result in poorer scores for some

A teacher-evaluation system being piloted in 44 Chicago Public Schools resulted in lower marks for some teachers, a recent report shows. Under the system, which assesses how well teachers connect with their students, 8% of teachers earned at least one unsatisfactory rating -- compared with 0.4% under the previous system.
