Struggling Illinois weighs license plate ads

Cash-strapped Illinois is considering whether to allow corporate logos on license plates. The proposal, currently under study by the secretary of state, would raise revenues and give drivers a discount on the branded plates. Texas is a pioneer in the field, with some plates now touting real estate and burger franchises.
