Willis: Propane a cleaner choice for small-engine equipment

Propane is a wise choice for small engines because it is cleaner than gasoline, and ethanol blends meant for cars can damage small engines, Propane Education & Research Council CEO Roy Willis writes. Lawnmowers, leaf blowers, construction equipment and other small-engine machines can benefit, he writes. "PERC's research on small engines has produced important results, cutting total carbon emissions by more than a third and cutting other air pollutants in half -- all with no loss in power or performance," writes Willis.
