EU food authority says Syngenta's Bt-10 maize probably safe

The European Food Safety Authority has said Syngenta's biotech maize that found its way into some countries of the EU, where it is illegal, probably is safe and poses no risk, even if accidental commingling has occurred. The EFSA added, however, that it could not reach a definitive conclusion on the overall safety of Syngenta's Bt-10 maize because it lacks sufficient data for a full risk assessment.
