Editorial: Let FDA provide expedited approval of follow-ons

A group of senators is working on an amendment that could provide a structure for allowing the FDA to approve generic versions of biotech drugs, or "follow-on biologics." It is important, says The Washington Post in an editorial, for generics makers to be allowed to be able to begin the approval process early enough that they can enter the market as soon as an exclusivity period expires.
