A top New York City official to lead Baltimore schools

Andres Alonso, a Cuban immigrant who left a high-paying job as a Wall Street lawyer to teach special education, will become the next Baltimore public schools' chief executive. Alonso, who already is wowing Baltimore educators and residents, currently is deputy chancellor of the New York City school system.
