3D modeling key to Vancouver Trade and Convention Center

Expansion of the Vancouver Trade and Convention Center required massive steel trusses, and because the project was tendered before the design was complete, it also necessitated use of 3D modeling. "The whole building was very tricky from design concept to 3D modeling. If it wasn't for the 3D modeling, the building wouldn't be up yet," said Harold Roberts, project manager. Erection of the center started in 2007 and was completed in April of this year.
