Bonn meetings lay base for treaty talks

Delegates from more than 100 UN member nations wrapped up almost two weeks of meetings in Bonn, Germany, as preparation for December's global climate conference aimed at producing an international climate change treaty continued. The meeting produced a 200-page document that will provide the framework for treaty talks in Copenhagen. "Time is short, but we still have enough time. I'm confident that governments can reach an agreement and want an agreement," said Yvo de Boer, executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
