Development of solar-powered aircraft heats up

Efforts to develop solar-powered aircraft are advancing, with one project, called the Solar Impulse, aspiring to fly a solar airplane around the world by 2011. The plane in that project is set to be unveiled at the end of June, and progress is being made on photovoltaic converters to convert light into electrical energy for the aircraft.
