Industry stakeholders convene for safety summit

Today in Washington, D.C., representatives from major U.S. airlines, regional carriers, and other industry stakeholders are meeting at FAA headquarters to discuss ways to improve industry safety. Even as the NTSB investigation into February's accident outside of Buffalo continues, DOT and FAA are convening this "call to action" summit to immediately address issues such as pilot training, and to share industry best practices that could be adopted voluntarily. "Good ideas can't stay on the shelf. They need to get from concept to cockpit as quickly as we can get them there," said FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt.
