Teachers, graduate students team up to improve math education

Eight graduate students at the University of Arizona will work with math teachers at local schools in an effort to boost teacher effectiveness. The goal of the mentoring effort, funded by a five-year grant from the National Science Foundation, is to determine best practices for teaching math and to abandon methods that aren't working.
