Unemployed turn to franchises for career opportunities

There are more than 20,000 franchise locations in New Jersey, and that number is expected to grow as more first-time business owners turn to franchising. Former business executives who used to work in the auto and financial sectors are opening Tasti D-Lite, Dunkin' Donuts and Panchero's locations in New Jersey. "We anticipate we're going to continue to see franchises outpace other businesses," the International Franchise Association's Alisa Harrison said.
