Virgin America reports smaller quarterly loss

Virgin America says its loss in the first quarter was $40.3 million, an improvement over the $52 million deficit reported in the same period last year. "Our first-quarter financial results exceeded our projections, and we foresee continued strong revenue growth through the spring and summer," said CEO David Cush.
