Amtrak to face foreign competition on high-speed rail

As the federal government doles out $8 billion in high-speed rail funding, Amtrak faces stiff competition from foreign rail operators and fabricators. "We need the experience from overseas, but the jobs are going to be developed here from the U.S," said Joseph Szabo, who leads the Federal Railroad Administration. Thirteen new, high-speed rail links are expected to be added across the country.
