Experts discuss donor deferral for CFS patients

Louis Katz, a member of the AABB task force reviewing whether the XMRV retrovirus poses a danger to the U.S. blood supply, on Friday said that per his own assessment, people who have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, a condition possibly linked to the virus, should not give blood. Katz clarified that the AABB task force's recommendations have not yet been released.
