Fed strives to improve small businesses' access to credit

The Baltimore branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond held a forum this week for lenders, business owners and regulators to discuss ways to improve access to credit for small businesses. Small-business owners say getting financing continues to be difficult, while bankers say they need the cash flow to support lending. Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., said there was a "disconnect" between lenders and small businesses.
