Support is growing for bill that targets illegal workers

Two Pennsylvania Republican state senators, Chuck McIlhinney and Kim Ward, are the latest to get behind legislation aimed at cracking down on illegal immigrants in the state's construction industry. The proposal would require building contractors and subcontractors to verify their workers' employment eligibility using E-Verify, an online database run by the Department of Homeland Security that uses Social Security numbers to confirm that workers are in the U.S. legally.
