Expected teacher raises for next year taken off the table in Chicago

The Chicago school board rescinded the 4% raises teachers were expecting to receive next school year, saying they are no longer affordable. Karen Lewis, president of the Chicago Teachers Union, says the raises were negotiated in good faith and that the union is considering what action to take. "This city did not get into this financial mess by overpaying teachers," she said.
