GSK research reports show dangerous side effects from antidepressant drug

Newly released research reports indicate GlaxoSmithKline's leading antidepressant drug, Seroxat (Paxil, Aropax), can cause suicidal tendencies in children. Facing a civil suit in the U.S. and questions from regulators in other countries, GSK reversed policy and released nine studies and two clinical reviews, some indicating suicidal tendencies and other side effects among youngsters who received the drug. U.K. officials last year banned use of the drug for patients under 18.
