Committee OKs Crawford nomination, but Senate vote likely to be blocked

A Senate committee voted to approve Lester Crawford's nomination to become permanent head of the FDA, but a few senators from both parties are expected to block a vote by the full Senate. The FDA's failure to issue a ruling on OTC status for the morning-after pill and another issue involving condom labeling are the main obstacles to Crawford's confirmation.
