Wildfire claims prompt insurers to sue federal government

State Farm Fire & Casualty Co., Allstate Insurance Co. and three companies that are part of The Hartford Financial Services Group are suing the federal goverment over $7.04 million in claims they paid for damage from Colorado's worst wildfire ever. The insurers claim the Forest Service was negligent in the 138,000-acre fire in 2002 and failed to supervise the forestry worker who started the blaze.
