Hospital switches from computers on carts to hand-held devices

Island Hospital of Anacortes, Wash., has switched from cart-mounted computers to hardware that nurses can carry by a handle. The hospital's nurses said the carts were too bulky and heavy, prompting the switch. The device has a bar-code scanner and allows for access to a hospital information system.
