PET scans show brain similarities between gay women, straight men

A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences used PET and MRI imaging and found similarities in the brains of straight women and gay men, as well as in the brains of straight men and lesbians. PET was used to measure brain blood flow in some of the study participants, which helped in analyzing right and left amygdalas connections.
