Delta IV beats Ares I on costs, NASA study finds

The Ares I rocket is not the cheapest way to get astronauts to the International Space Station, according to a NASA-funded study. The $500,000 study found that a revamped Delta IV rocket from United Launch Alliance would be a less expensive option, though it could also lengthen the "gap" in which the U.S. depends on Russian rockets to send its astronauts into space.
