FAA, airlines agree to improve safety at regional carriers

FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt says safety at regional carriers is not always up to par with their major affiliates. "The last few months, quite frankly, are an indication that some things aren't right," Babbitt said during a Washington summit on regional airline safety. At the same meeting, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said he would press for regional airlines to copy voluntary safety measures found at major carriers, including programs that allow pilots to anonymously report violations without fear of repercussions.
