Report: Spending on travel, tourism dropped 5.9% in first quarter

After dropping 6.9% in the fourth quarter of last year, inflation-adjusted spending on travel and tourism plunged a further 5.9% in the first quarter, according to a report by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis. But spending on international flights jumped more than 10%. Accommodations spending continued to deteriorate.
