Children's hospital in Italy hopes design will help heal

The Meyers Pediatric Hospital in Florence, Italy, has a green roof that covers most of the building and features a play area. The roof also has 47 solar tubes that resemble the hat worn by the Disney character Pinocchio. These solar tubes feed natural light into the building. The hospital uses architecture to help the healing process, and the roof contributes to the healing environment.
