DNA technology helps trace people engaged in dogfighting

Researchers at the University of California, Davis, are using a program called the Canine Combined DNA Index System to help law-enforcement officials clamp down on people involved in dogfighting operations. "This is very groundbreaking because it combines resources from multiple agencies," said Beth Wictum, director of the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory forensic unit at UC-Davis.
