To hang onto top talent, companies must reward the employees with better pay and opportunities -- but also constantly get their input about what they want in their careers, experts say. "You're not going to break talent if you ask them, 'How can we make it so that you'll spend your career with us?' A direct question is how you get the answer. Ask them. They'll tell you," says Steven Berglas, psychologist and executive coach.
