Sweets may raise risk of pancreatic cancer, study says

An Italian study found that eating sweets and foods with a high glycemic index that cause rapid blood-sugar spikes may raise the risk of pancreatic cancer. Researchers said the increased risk was associated with higher intakes of sugar, candy, honey and jam, but not overall carbohydrate or fruit intake, suggesting processed carbohydrates may be a link to the disease.
