The CDC on Wednesday held the first of four meetings about parents' views on meningitis vaccination for young children. Many parents believed the vaccine is important to protect their children against the deadly but preventable disease, while others were worried about vaccine safety in general. The FDA recently granted approval to a meningitis vaccine for children as young as 9 months old.
