Survey: Social media users are more socially engaged

Social media users are more likely to have active real-world social lives and to be engaged in offline political and civic activities, according to a survey from the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project. Regular Facebook users are 2½ times more likely than other Web users to attend political rallies, the survey found, and are 43% more likely than other Web users to describe themselves as likely voters.
