Asian shares end down week on a higher note

Asian markets were generally higher Friday but, with the exception of Japan, were down for the week as fears spread over a waning commitment by central banks to further stimulus. On Friday, the Nikkei climbed 1.94% to 12,686.52, the Hang Seng added 0.39% to 20,969.14, the Kospi rose 0.35% to 1,889.24 and the S&P/ASX jumped 2.04% to 4,791.80.
