Estate planning for digital assets such as online banking, e-mail and social media accounts is gaining currency as the digital world becomes a greater part of clients' lives and businesses. According to this article, financial advisers should be forward-thinking about these issues, helping clients incorporate digital assets into their estate plans along with traditional assets. Advisers caution against putting a list of assets and passwords in a will, however, suggesting that such data be recorded in a separate letter.
