Hotels tap offsite facilities to boost brand image

More hotels are forming relationships with nearby establishments with the aim of strengthening their appeal to travelers. "For amenities like spas and golf courses, it may not be practical for a hotel to build one for themselves. But they are also now amenities that are generally considered necessary in order to be able to compete. So as a way of being able to position themselves as a resort-style property, some hotels are forming these exclusive relationships that provide things like preferred access or pricing for their guests," said Robert Mandelbaum, a director at PKF Hospitality Services.
