India to reduce prices of crucial meds by up to half

Official sources said prices of as many as 150 essential drugs will be announced by India's National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority under a new policy. The prices of some key antibiotics, cancer medicines, tuberculosis treatments and cardiovascular disease drugs are set to drop by as much as 50% in the next 45 days based on the 2013 Drug Price Control Order.
