Why faculty must have a clear code for collegiality

Universities need clear rules for collegiality and civility to foster faculty job satisfaction, according to a report by Southern Connecticut State University professor emeritus Robert Cipriano. During a presentation last week at the American Association of University Professors' annual meeting, Cipriano cited research that just one "slacker or jerk" can reduce overall team performance by up to 40%. Cipriano has launched a new tool to assess the level of collegiality in faculty members.
