6 smart-grid projects to benefit from DOE-funded software

The Department of Energy is providing $10 million in grants to six U.S. smart-grid projects to facilitate the deployment of software designed to improve grid reliability. "By partnering with utilities and software developers, the Energy Department can help the U.S. electric industry maintain more reliable and resilient power systems," said DOE's Patricia Hoffman.
