Adding SMS to diabetes care improves outcomes in Latinos

Low-income Hispanic type 2 diabetes patients who received text messages as part of diabetes self-management attained greater reductions in A1C at three months than those who had usual care, research showed. However, no differences in lipids, weight or blood pressure were observed between the groups, researchers reported at the ADA 74th Scientific Sessions.
