Pediatric asthma protocol yields fewer readmissions

A study of more than 500 2- to 18-year-olds who were hospitalized because of an asthma attack found that compliance with an asthma management protocol, which included a home management plan of care, was linked to a 70% decline in readmission rates. The findings were published in the journal Pediatrics.
