Wis. farming academy triples enrollment in 3 years

The complexity of modern farms is driving the dramatic growth of Northcentral Technical College's Agriculture Center of Excellence near Wausau, Wis., says Lori Weyer, the college's president. Enrollment has more than tripled since the academy opened in 2011. Most graduates will be farm managers, rather than owners, as traditional family farms give way to larger operations, Weyer says.
