Increase in part-timers is mixed blessing

The highest number of part-time employees in the U.S. since 1997 has positive and negative implications, according to analysts. The 4.6 million workers in part-time jobs shows how weak the labor market is, but also it shows that people are able to find some kind of work once unemployment benefits run out.
