New requirement will shrink Florida class sizes

Counties in Florida will need to make huge cuts in average class sizes, especially in pre-K through third grade, to meet caps included in Florida's new constitutional amendment. The plan signed last week by Gov. Jeb Bush includes $468 million in extra operational funding and $600 million of bonded lottery money for construction.
