Spellings touts NCLB; Los Angeles details tutoring data

U.S. Education Secretary Margeret Spellings yesterday said test data shows that the No Child Left Behind Act is helping to close the achievement gap between Hispanics and whites in reading and math. Separately, the Los Angeles Unified School District announced that nearly 300,000 students in the city's school system are eligible for free tutoring services from private providers under NCLB.
