Study: Sweet drinks leading source of calories

A study by a Tufts University professor found sodas have become the top energy contributor in the American diet, accounting for 14% of calorie consumption and replacing white bread, which accounts for about 6% of calories consumed. Dr. Odilia Bermudez believes the food industry could use her findings to help educate consumers.
