Proposed bill would postpone competitive-bidding program at a cost

Reps. Pete Stark, D-Calif., and Dave Camp, R-Mich., have introduced a bill that would delay CMS' competitive-bidding program for 18 months. The legislation would cut Medicare payment rates to the durable-medical-equipment sector by 9.5% starting next year to finance the postponement and other reforms.
