Airlines cut employment by 5.5% in April

U.S. passenger carriers have trimmed payrolls for a 10th straight month, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. April's employment figures were down 5.5% from year-ago levels as carriers cut back in the face of sagging demand.
